Are steam mops with carpet gliders good for getting out dark dirt stains tha may have set in for a couple of?
weeks? I ask bc I do NOT want to spend money on a professional cleaner who most use steam cleaners and I have heard steam cleaners are good but I want to know about people’s experience with them and darker dirt stains on carpet. It would be cheaper in the long run, then to have a professional steam cleaner clean my carpet. So those who have a steam cleaner that works well or does not on carpet I want to hear from you. Also, which brand works better? I have heard Dirt Devil is better than Shark.

i have a shark steam mop. i use the glider on my carpet, but it won’t get out stains. i think that’s mostly to kill germs. most grocery stores rent carpet shampooers. try that. cheaper than a professional……if you only have a few bad spots, spray them with fantastic, scrub with a brush, wait few minutes and rub over with a damp sponge. that works for me for spot cleaning. cheap too. you can rent or buy a carpet steam cleaner (they work well), but the shark with the glider doesn’t do the same job.
